Initiatives

Founded by Dr. Deborah Tolman and CUNY graduate students, with a growing group of affiliated scholars and network of research labs from across the US and the globe, our tagline is “Critical knowledge for critical times.” 

The Project for the Advancement of Our Common Humanity (PACH) is a think-and-do tank focused on researching and applying the science of human connection to create a more just and humane world. We believe that transforming the way we see each other will transform the way we treat each other.

The Women’s Refugee Commission has worked for more than 30 years to protect and improve the lives of refugee women, children, and youth around the world. A lead partner in the global “Call to Action on Prevention from Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies” and leads a process to develop a “Road Map” for 2016–2020.

SPARK Movement is a girl-fueled, intergenerational activist organization working to ignite and foster an antiracist gender justice movement to end violence against women and girls and promote girls’ healthy sexuality, self-empowerment and well-being.
